Five Element Healing Sounds and Emotional Balance

In Traditional Chinese medicine, the five element theory represents the fundamental principles of nature, and the interconnectedness of various elements wood, fire, earth, metal and water with the organs, emotions and bodily functions. Each element is associated with specific organs, emotions, and healing sounds used in Qigong, acupuncture, meditation and other holistic practices to promote well-being and balance.

Here are the healing sounds associated with each element:

Wood element:

Associated organs: liver and gallbladder. Emotion: anger. The healing sound related to the wood element is “sshhh” often used to release anger and frustration.

Fire element:

Associated organ: heart in small intestine. Emotion: Joy. The healing sound associated with the fire element is  “Haaaww”  used to release shock and hate and promote joy and emotional balance.
